Interior Design 2011: Top styles and directions

Age of Electic simplicity. As we were taught at one time, there is a basis - the economy, and all sorts of add-ins, including fashion styles, must follow the dictates of the base. Here and interior design in the oncoming years will be adapting to worldwide economic realities.
Significantly will reduced interest in the classical style as the style of abundance era. But will strengthen the position of minimalism and “space” or technological reasons in the design. All in design is moving in the direction of the “minimalist functionalism”, when even a thumbnail shelf hangs not just like “furniture”, but also to place on it the concrete right thing.
The style of interior is now committed to purity and simplicity. Therefore, the union of the living room and kitchen, the so-called studio, will increasingly occur among the employments of designers. The living will not change much, but from the kitchen, customer will expect more of aesthetics and functionality at the same time: to clean the kitchen work surface from a variety of petite appliances, integrate more technology into the furniture.
All European and American design guru in theirs works tied again to the economic crisis. Accordingly, the most fashionable are inexpensive materials, such as various plastics. However, wood will be fashionable too, as well as other natural materials such as natural wool.
Clear stylistic limitations simply impossible today. Therefore, in the modern interior mainstream - it’s an eclectic (a mixture of styles).
Four international styles. Each year, the organizers of the January exhibition in Cologne, published the book Interior Trends, describing the “fashionable” trends for the new year. In the new release of Interior Trends 2011, which was presented to the public was named four major trends of the new year.
“Emotional Astringency.” The elegant environment will be created in discreet solutions, but without the algidity of minimalism. Natural materials (wood, leather, felt, fabric) and natural soft colors - for example, “earthy” with a splash of olive pink and brown tones.
“Surprised Empathy.” Light will look heavier and bulkier, and heavy - lighter. Light and elastic materials will be contrasted with the rough. The major color is gray cold combined with black and ashy and splashes of lemon and orange, well-balanced gray-brown. And forms will gravitate to the angularity.
“Rebalancing”. Subjects will try to give the rounded form, to provide them with soft cushions, upholstery made of cloth or sheepskin.
Preference - natural materials, knitted, wool, hand-spinning even upholstery. Colors: Warm colored-rhubarb, creamy-white, yellow-corn and yellow-brown.
“Transformation of perspective”. It would be archaic, crude, or even kitsch form, polished and matte surfaces, composite materials of mineral, glass. The dominant will plum-blue, in emphasis - shades of lavender and gray-blue.
